The Bizzy Buddyz OSCAR programme has for many years been the most popular after school and holiday programme in Whakatane, being fully booked out every school holiday period! The OSCAR programme is a great place for your children to spend their time, with great activities and plenty of supervision to make their stay safe at all times. Our staff members have years of experience working with children and are all dedicated to making the programmes exciting and inviting to the children that attend.

Spaces are always limited so please enquire as early as possible by popping into the Bizzy Buddyz office at 76 Alexander Ave, Whakatane or phoning 0800 084 314. Please contact the office if you would like information regarding costs for either After School childcare or the Holiday Programme.

Hours of operation
During school term: Monday to Friday 2.30 - 5.30
School holidays: Monday to Friday 7.30 - 5.30

Our rules to ensure programmes operate smoothly

  • The Programme Supervisor will be in attendance at the programme during operational hours.
  • The Supervisor role must be carried out by an adult over the age of 20 years. Staff and volunteers counted for the staff/child ratio must be over 16 years of age or older.
  • The minimum ratios of staff to children are one to ten children on-site and one staff member to eight children off site and one to four around water activities.
  • Bizzy Buddyz will have clear attendance records kept every day. Staff will know at all times who is at the programme and who needs to be transported from the school each day. We offer pick ups from schools delivering the children to our centre at 76 Alexander Ave, Whakatane. (the old Baptist Church)
  • There will always be at least two staff members present at the centre at all times.

Bizzy Buddyz OSCAR is CYF approved with WINZ subsidies available.

3pm - Attendance check & snack time

3.15 - Planned activities

4.15 - Homework

4.30 - Outside activities

5.15 - Quiet time games, puzzles books.

5.30 - Clean up.

For School Holidays care, children must be enrolled and the booking form (attached to the School Holiday Programme) MUST be completed. This ensures we have the correct staff ratio for the children attending.
