Bizzy Buddyz Ltd - October 2007 Newsletter

October, 2007

We would like to welcome all new families and Educarers that have joined Bizzy Buddyz over the last term. Our team of Educarers is growing and we have expanded into the Opotiki area.

Education Review Office

This term we have the Education Review team visiting our organisation 15^th Oct – 18^th Oct to focus on how our service is contributing to children’s learning and development and whether we are providing a safe environment that promotes children’s safety and wellbeing. We would appreciate all Educarers to co-operate in any way possible if asked for any information from the ERO team.

Playgroups for this term are as follows:

October 10^th: Meet at 9.45am for some fresh air and fun at Rose Gardens. We will be practising Waiata for the ERO visit. If wet, meet at Lyn Richardson’s, 112 Douglas Street.

October 16^th: Everyone to attend playgroup today as the ERO staff would like to meet all Educarers and children at 69 Pohutu Street (Diane Sansons home) 9.30am start.

October 24th:Today, meet at Maraeatotora Reserve at 9.45am, then onto the Pa site over looking Ohiwa Harbour at Ohope Beach. Focus on local history.

October 30th: Meet at office 9.45am for a surprise playgroup.

Nov 7th: Meet at Yvonne Turfrey’s home, 87 Awatapu Drive at 9.45 for Water play activities.

Nov 13th: Early start today. Meet at airport at 9am to see aeroplane arrive morning tea on beach.

Nov 20th: Messy play activities at Lyn Richardson home 112 Douglas Street 9.45am.

Nov 28th: White Pine Bush walk meet at Rowing Club at 9.30. Julian’s berry farm for morning tea.

Dec 4th: Make Christmas decorations with the children and sing Christmas songs at the office at 9.45am (7 Sisam Place)

Dec 12th: Keep this day free for the Bizzy Buddyz Christmas party. To be notified closer to time.

Playgroups were again enjoyable for all that attended. Playgroup gives the children opportunities to interact and socialise with other children and gain important social skills, to visit the community and have different experiences in the wider world. Playgroup also gives Educarers the opportunity to meet with other Educarers for that very important adult contact, to have a nice cuppa and yummy cake. Thank you to Barbara, Val, Dianne Biddle and Diane Sanson for the playgroups held at your homes. If you would like a playgroup at your home or have some good ideas please contact the office. We had some interesting outings for the children, fire station, beach visit, bouncy castle and Bizzy Buddyz first birthday party. It is always great to see the children all playing together and the Educarers getting to know each other.

Please have all term 3 profile sheets ready for the co-ordinator to collect when they start their visits again next term.

If you need to complete your first aid certificate or do your refresher course, ring the office for the dates that are available for the rest of this year.
