Requirements of an Educarer
Great Educarers have a warm and caring personality and enjoy working and playing with children.
You would work from your own home with hours that are compatible with you and your family.
Educarers provide a stimulating programme based on Te Whariki, the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum.
Being able to provide a stable and consistent care and education for the children you care for.
An Educarer must reach the requirements as set by The Ministry of Education. Your section must be fenced and meet the requirements of the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008, i.e. You must provide a clean, safe and hygienic indoor and outdoor environment.
Police checks will be completed on yourself, partner and anyone else in your home over the age of 17 years.
Educarers are required to complete the EDU403 Early Childhood Practice course as well as maintaining a current first aid certificate.
There are many other additional training opportunities made available which our Educarers are encouraged to attend.
